Three Cups of Tea is the story that inspired me to create this non-profit organization. Three Cups of Tea is an autobiography of Greg Mortenson's plan to help building schools by promoting people to donate. His result was that he advertised for people to donate and supply education in one of the world's poorest cities. When I read this book in third grade, I dreamed to be like Mortenson when I was older or retired. A few years later, I watched a Chinese talent show about a Chinese man singing to promote people to donate. With his guitar, he sang songs about his life teaching the kids in poverty. At the end of his song, he showed a video of the kids he taught, black faced with dirt. For each meal the kids would have a small bowl of rice and no nutritious food. On top of that, the kids didn't have the supplies to keep them warm during the blistering winters. The video also explained why the education was so scares. No teacher wanted to teach in an area so poor, and he with only high school degree as the only teacher there for many years. He pleaded people to donate money or supplies to the schools for there are no or few organizations in China to help the poor. It is not part of the culture to donate money to those who live lesser than you.

Now that I have seen the desperation of the kids I visited in Malipo, I urgently need to launch a non-profit organization to supply blankets before winter comes. I hope to later supply them with whiteboards, mattresses and scholarships so they can have an education.
